Associate Pastor of Education & Administration


Full-Time Position Summary (part time position posted below this one)

The Associate Pastor of Education & Administration serves as a key member of the pastoral staff,

partnering closely with the Senior Pastor to advance the mission and vision of Palm West Community

Church. This individual provides leadership in developing a comprehensive education strategy,

equipping leaders and teachers, strengthening organizational effectiveness, and supporting the overall

pastoral ministry of the church. The goal of this position is to help every ministry and educational

opportunity work together toward a unified process of spiritual growth and life transformation.


Primary Responsibilities


Leadership of the Educational Ministry (60%)

 Develop, oversee, and continually improve a dynamic and comprehensive adult education ministry.

 Recruit, train, coach, and encourage Bible teachers and ministry leaders.

 Ensure that classes, studies, seminars, and educational opportunities complement one another and

work together toward a unified discipleship pathway.

 Evaluate curriculum and teaching resources to ensure biblical soundness, practical application, and

alignment with the mission and values of Palm West Community Church.

 Lead and oversee the Small Groups Ministry.

 Foster collaboration among teachers so that the educational ministry reflects one cohesive vision

rather than isolated programs.


Leadership Development (15%)

 Provide coaching and leadership development for designated ministry leaders, including those who

report directly to this position, while also supporting other staff members in developing leaders

within their ministry areas.”

 Help ministry leaders become healthier, more effective, and better equipped to fulfill their

responsibilities.

 Assist leaders in identifying challenges, solving problems, and developing future leaders.

 Promote healthy communication, teamwork, and unity among ministry leaders.


Administrative Leadership (15%)

 Work closely with the church administrator during the transition leading to retirement.

 Become thoroughly familiar with the church's administrative systems, policies, procedures, files, and

organizational practices, both physical and digital.

 Document administrative responsibilities and develop clear processes that will ensure a smooth

leadership transition.

 Assist in developing a comprehensive job description and onboarding plan for the future church

administrator and office volunteers.

 Help strengthen organizational systems that improve communication, efficiency, and ministry

effectiveness.


Pastoral Ministry (10%)

 Provide occasional pulpit supply and teaching support for the Senior Pastor as needed.

 Assist in addressing ministry needs, leadership challenges, and congregational concerns as they

arise.

 Participate in weddings, funerals, hospital visitation, counseling, and other pastoral responsibilities

as appropriate.


Qualifications

 Demonstrates a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ characterized by spiritual

maturity, integrity, humility, and servant leadership.

 Fully embraces the doctrinal beliefs, mission, values, philosophy of ministry, and strategic direction

of Palm West Community Church.

 Possesses proven gifts in teaching, leadership development, organization, and administration.

 Able to build teams, equip volunteers, develop leaders, and create healthy ministry systems.

 Demonstrates wisdom, sound judgment, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit.

 Supports the unity of the church by building healthy relationships, resolving conflict biblically, and

modeling Christlike character.

 Ordained with a bachelor's degree required; graduate theological education preferred.


Desired Characteristics

The ideal candidate is a leader developer who enjoys helping others succeed. Must be a builder who has

experience scaling ministries for a growing congregation. Should possesses both vision and

organizational strength, while maintaining a genuine pastor's heart. Candidate is able to think

systemically, recognizing how individual ministries contribute to the overall discipleship mission of the

church. Above all, is committed to glorifying Christ, equipping God's people for ministry, and protecting

the unity of the church. Since Palm West is located in a 55 and up community, it is imperative that the

candidate feel comfortable working with a senior oriented congregation.


Compensation Package (FULL TIME)

 FT salary in the range of $65,000 – $75,000.

 Retirement Package paid into monthly above salary through MMBB.

 Health Insurance for employee & HSA account.

 2 weeks minimum of Vacation, with recognized holidays off.

and ministry leaders, strengthening the church's discipleship process, and supporting the overall

pastoral ministry of the church. The goal of this position is to help educational ministries and discipleship opportunities work together toward a unified process of spiritual growth and life transformation.


Primary Responsibilities


Leadership of the Educational Ministry — 60%

 Develop, oversee, and continually improve a dynamic and comprehensive adult education ministry.

 Lead and oversee the Small Groups Ministry.

 Foster collaboration among teachers and leaders so that the educational ministry reflects one

cohesive vision rather than a collection of isolated programs.

 Regularly evaluate educational ministries and discipleship initiatives for effectiveness, participation,

leadership health, and alignment with the church's mission.

 Identify and develop new educational and discipleship opportunities as the needs of the

congregation evolve.


Leadership Development — 25%

 Provide coaching and leadership development for designated ministry leaders while also supporting

other staff members in developing leaders within their ministry areas.

 Help ministry leaders become healthier, more effective, and better equipped to fulfill their

responsibilities.

 Assist leaders in identifying challenges, solving problems, and developing future leaders.

 Recruit, identify, and develop emerging leaders within the congregation.

 Promote healthy communication, teamwork, collaboration, and unity among ministry leaders.

 Help create a culture in which leaders are continually being equipped to equip others.


Pastoral Ministry — 15%

 Provide occasional pulpit supply and teaching support for the Senior Pastor as needed.

 Assist in addressing ministry needs, leadership challenges, and congregational concerns as

appropriate.

 Participate in weddings, funerals, hospital visitation, counseling, and other pastoral responsibilities

as appropriate to the position and available hours.

 Participate as a collaborative member of the pastoral staff and contribute to the overall spiritual

health and direction of the congregation.

 Since Palm West Community Church is located within a 55+ community, it is important that the

candidate understand, appreciate, and feel comfortable ministering within a senior-oriented, active-

adult congregation and recognize the tremendous potential older adults have to learn, lead, serve,

mentor, and contribute to the mission of the church.


Compensation Package

 Flexible schedule with the expectation of 20-30 hours per week.

 Hourly compensation between $30-$35 per hour.

 Two weeks paid vacation.
