Identify the needs and interests of youth within the church and community. Plan and develop programs for this ministry. Evaluate existing programs to determine effectiveness. Identify and provide ministry opportunities for youth. Perform other duties as assigned by the Elders.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Elders. Meet at least quarterly with youth leader/team to pray and discuss upcoming events, challenges, training, solutions, and praises. Participate in outreach ministry to youth who have visited the church. Lead midweek Bible study for youth. Plan at least one annual youth retreat for the purpose of spiritual edification. Support and participate in church wide activities as time allows. Develop the youth ministry budget and track expenditures throughout the year. Compile a youth directory with an effective means of communication. Agree and adhere to the NLCC Doctrinal Statement and church membership covenant. Keep informed of the latest material and methods related to youth work.
Provide spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis, helping the youth grow as disciples in areas such as: how to study the Bible; how to pray; developing Christian values, attitudes and actions; how to reach their lost friends; how to have a Biblical healthy, self-respect; how to respect those in authority; how to develop healthy friendships and standing up to peer-pressure; how to be a responsible church member.
