About Us

Grace Community Church is a gathering of an intergenerational congregation with just under 500 members and regular attenders. Positioned in Angier, NC, Grace is an hour from Raleigh and an hour from Fayetteville and Fort Bragg. Nearby towns are Fuquay-Varina, Lillington, and Buies Creek (home of Campbell University). Our area offers a wide variety of recreational, shopping, and dining options. Located outside of greater Raleigh, we are a growing church in a booming area.

Supervisor

The Church Administrator will be a member of the church staff. The GCC staff is supervised by the Lead Pastor/Teaching Elder, who reports to the elders.


Purpose

The Church Administrator will have the responsibility of supporting GCC’s elders, deacons, and staff in carrying out tasks related to the operations of the church, primarily focusing on administrative tasks. The Church Administrator would need to become a member of Grace Community Church.


Qualifications

  • Agree with Grace Community Church’s purpose, doctrine, and positions as stated in the church constitution (graceccnc.org/doctrine)
  • An undergraduate degree is desired, but not required
  • Experience in managing employees and/or leading adult volunteer teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Proficiency in Planning Center’s family of apps desired; a determination to master working with Planning Center is necessary
  • Clear written verbal and communication skills
  • The ability to keep multiple projects organized and prioritized well
  • Excellent skills in editing for grammar and style
  • Experience in editing and maintaining a website desired
  • Proficient in design software such as Canva; proficiency in Photoshop desired, but not required


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the church and church office in maintaining the calendar, schedules, records, staff meeting minutes, and church supplies
  • Provide in-office presence and manage communications of the church and church office in being the primary person to answer phone calls to the office, checking the church messages (voicemails/emails), responding to messages or distributing messages as necessary, distributing communications and publications via print and digital media to the church, and maintaining and updating the church website
  • Maintain the church database by regularly adding, deleting, and updating profiles, workflows, and lists
  • Assist the Deacons in facility care and maintenance, overseeing the Custodian in his/her responsibilities of caring for and maintaining the church property and building, make service calls, and maintain contractor contracts and relationships
  • Assist the Finance Team and Elders in managing church finances, overseeing the Bookkeeper in his/her responsibilities of carrying out the financial business of the church
  • Provide administrative assistance and support to staff, elders, deacons, and ministry leaders
  • Execute church events, working with the Events Team when necessary in planning and coordinating
  • Ensure visitor awareness, care, and follow-up, working with the Welcome and First Impressions Teams
  • Direct and support volunteer leaders of the Welcome, Events, and First Impressions Teams

Work Time

The Church Administrator position is a full-time position. The Church Administrator should maintain consistent office hours to be agreed upon with the Lead Pastor. The nature of the position will require attendance at both Sunday services and other church-wide events.


Compensation

The Church Administrator position is salaried, paid at the end of each month. The salary can be divided to include business expenses to best meet personal and ministry needs (must be approved by the elders).
